Maintain It

All these multi year durability claims mean nothing unless you’re maintaining it correctly. We do offer a maintenance service which we require to get done once every 6 months to keep your warranty. In this service we have a few steps, the first task is to wash the vehicle and make sure its clean. Shortly after, we do a decontamination step just like we’re prepping the car for polishing to make sure the coating is free of any contaminants. Once that is done we examine the paint to make sure the coating is still doing its job. In the event your car has gotten damage for example a shopping cart knicks your paint, you could have us polish that area and then recoat the section. Before we hand your car back to you we apply a ceramic maintenance spray to reinforce the coating. This product is called Cure and is made to work with their coatings and reinforce them.

We do not recommend only washing the car once every 6 months. A bi weekly or at the very least monthly wash is ideal to make sure the coating lasts. Luckily if you enjoy washing your car the coating makes the process a lot easier. The dirt and grime from driving does not have to ability to grab onto the paint as easily. The dirt that does get on the paint however is not stubborn to remove like it is on a car that has no protection.

If you click here it’ll redirect you to a list of products that we recommend to maintain your freshly coated car. There will be quite a few products on that list but I will tell you about the few must haves in that collection.

For starters you need a solid pH balanced soap. Yes pH as in the scale we use to measure how basic or acidic a chemical is. We recommend the soap to be anywhere in between 6-8. This is to make sure we are not applying too harsh of a chemical on the coating too often. Even though the coatings are highly chemical resistant, repeated use may cause damage not only to the coating but also plastics and rubbers around the vehicle. The properties of the ceramic coating make it so you don’t need such powerful chemicals all the time. The main product I recommend is Gyeon Bathe. Bathe has the highest quality surfactants and provide a lot of lubricity to minimize the swirling of your freshly corrected paint. Along with your choice of the quality soap I recommend the wash pad/mitt from The Rag Company. They are super soft and have these microfiber strands that pick up the dirt from the paint safely. Once the car is clean and you’ve rinsed the car you need a quality microfiber drying towel. The Rag Company again, makes a really great towel, similar idea to the wash pad the fingers of the microfiber will pick up the dirt safely in case you missed a spot. Lastly, the Gyeon Quick Detailer, I like to use after every wash. It boosts the gloss whole lot and makes the drying process a whole lot safer. I spray it on the car while it’s wet and dry it off with the drying towel. You might be asking why not use a ceramic detailer? Those products are great, I personally also have one from Gyeon. I just feel like stacking all these high durability products on top of the coating is a little pointless. All I need in a quick detailer is something that will give me extra gloss until my next wash. Gyeon Quick Detailer just happens to be the glossiest product I’ve come across so far. As long as you have those products your washing experience will be fun and the results will only add to it.

  • No they are not. While a coating is harder than the clear coat the paint is still prone to scratching. In the long run there will be less scratches because you won’t have to touch the paint as much.

  • Technically you can. It is not always recommended. It won’t harm the coating in any way but the coatings’ properties are superior and would just mask the coating. There is one wax i do recommend call Q2 wax from Gyeon. It is a ceramic based wax that plays well with the coating and boosts it.

  • Ceramic coated or not express car washes are not good for the paint. There are risks of scratching on the paint. At the very least if needed please use a self serve car wash.
